I saw this one and thought it was reasonably priced, but then noticed that the accuracy is only 2%. That would seem to be ok for firewood (as pictured), but maybe a little too high for furniture work?

That said, I don't have a meter at all and I've been ok, so maybe I don't need one. It seemed like a good candidate for the xmas/bday lists...anything better in the same price range? Anyone used this one?

Realistically 2% would not make that much of a difference especially since alot of us have a bigger diff. than that between house and shop. That being said, in the last year I found a mini ligno for $50 myself and then a Delmhorst for not much more (DaveO picked it up) on the Raleigh CL within the last year. The deals are out there.
