Haven't posted anything lately because I've been playing with some new toys. I've been sandblasting. Here's a box I made for a friend for her daughter. The box is SYP 7"x9"x3" with satin poly. The mirror in the lid is 4"x6" sandblasted twice from the back. 1st blast for the purple dragon, then painted. 2nd blast for the type and painted gold. I put a clear piece of glass and a piece of veneer on the inside of the lid so a photograph could be placed there.

Too many ideas, not enough time.

I had a contract with a gift shop 25 years ago to make mirrors like that to go in boxes. I was very busy around Christmas when all my other work was dead.

You did a great job on the art and the lettering. The box ain't too bad either.

That looks awesome Rick!

Is the sandblaster different than a normal one?

Phillip,

It's a little different, enclosed cabinet, dust collector and compressor standard. The pressure pot, gun and abrasive are different. Abrasive is 220 grit silicon carbide, gun and pressure pot are designed for etching glass.
