micromesh question

I am trying some new finishing techniques and have a micromesh question. Should you use micromesh after applying lacquer or wipe-on polyeurethane. I am using this on some small lathe projects.

I don't know about poly but I would think it is about the same as lacquer. If you MM lacquer before it fully cures (2-4 days?) you will either ball up the finish or cloud it. If you MM after it is fully cured then the finished shine is great.
