Wanted to make an announcement about this class coming up on July 30. I'm really excited about it, as I'm the one instructing it. In case you didn't know, I'm a plane maker in addition to the director of Asheville Woodworking School here at Asheville Hardware. I'm looking forward to turning more people on to making these planes.

For many woodworkers, there is nothing quite like making one’s own hand tools. This class will walk you through making a Krenov style wooden hand plane. The instructor will show you the process from scratch while you follow along using a kit from Hock Tools. At the end of the class, you will have a beautiful and extremely useful wooden plane that will last you for years to come. The class will also offer some basic hand plane usage tips. Cost of the class includes the Hock wood plane kit.
