Four inch PVC is strong enough and I have a little experience working with it.

I have not developed a way to reliably bend it to a gentle curve needed for crossing obstructions.

Find an electrician that has a PVC heat blanket. It wraps around the pipe & in a few minutes' time, the pipe is soft enough to bend to any shape. They use it all the time to bend pipe in ditches where a 90 or 45 degree elbow won't work. Be sure no to kink it. DAMHIKT.

Longer runners will make turning more difficult. You may want to try a tandem set up where the front runner assembly pivots and the rear remains stationary.
