Grandson is coming for a visit. Want to let him turn the handle for a light Saber. Does anyone have the directions/dimensions for the handle blank including the predrilled holes?

Thanks,
Steve

2x2 6 inches (5 1/2 on our lathes because the rest is a little short.)
1 inch hole 3 inches deep then 5/8 rest of way through.

Light from Harbor freight and PEX from Home depot or Lowe's.

What Mike said. 1-7/8" is fine if you get 8/4 lumber to start with. Square is better though (1-7/8x1-7/8 for example) so drilling can be done easier. It is easiest to drill them on the lathe using spade bits rather than a drill press. We've found Maple works well as does Mahogany. Walnut tends to fracture but can work ok if a good piece. Oak seems not to work well. Just some of our experiences.
