Lathe Tool Shelf

The "new shop" setup continues ... this time a shelf to hold the lathe tools and some accessories. This should keep things organized, and within reach. It's made of birch and just a wipe-on finish. The joinery is a combination of Festool Domino and screws (with walnut plugs)

Jeremy, that is VERY nice!

One question, it may be a trick of the eye (or the picture), but the tools seem a little far away from you (having to reach over the lathe etc.)

When you are turning will they be closer to you or is it just an optical illusion?

It's an illusion. They are easily within grasp (by me at least!)

Nice tool rack Jeremy. Just be careful reaching over the lathe to get a tool.

Very nice tool rack. Good design, placement, etc.

Just one problem: there isn't a 6" layer of shavings all over everything!

Jeremy one thing I failed to point out that I like is the grinder placement.
I think people discount that. NOTHING works better than a sharp tool and if you have to take more than one step to the grinder you WILL use a tool past its sharpness!
