I am looking for an engraver who can work a piece of wood that is long and narrow. The piece will be a comb for a Windsor settee. The rough dimensions:

3/4" thick
3" wide before shape work
48" long

The image will be : Duke University University of North Carolina

or Blue Devils and Tar Heels

The question looming is: Is this piece to long to fit in a laser box or table?
The engraving does not need to cover the length of the piece of wood.

Any directions or advice would be appreciated.

There are large format laser engravers out there. I have seen 6ft tables before. Shouldn't be a problem to find someone.

Maybe PM Brad(vetteman9956) and ask if his unit can do it if he doesn't see the post and respond.

I have a 4' x 8' cnc machine that could either engrave or cut out the letters if that is what you are looking for. I'm in North Raleigh. It won't be burned like a laser but cut.

It's a little to big for my laser. I'm limited to 24". I have done pieces like that by doing a inlay piece that can be place in a routed out recess in the wood.
