Hey, everybody! If you're going to be in Asheville at some point between now and 24 April 2024, Blue Spiral Gallery is hosting "W.O.W: Wood Invitational," an exhibit that has some incredible works on display. I visited last weekend, and it's in my head still. Most are art rather than furniture (there's some of that, too, though), but the techniques and execution were mighty fine. One piece in particular, Hans Weissflog's "Pierced Rocking Bowl" (pictured), stood out to me--not sure how he made it; it looks turned, but it's tiny and perfect and measures 2 1/2 x 5 1/5 x 3 9/16". DANG.

Also, a local's advice: the Coxe Avenue parking deck is affordable and usually has plenty of spaces. And, White Duck Tacos just up the street from the gallery is mighty tasty and probably won't break the budget.
