Hi Y'all, can anyone put a value on these hand planes for me. I found these at a flea market and would like to know the value and a possible deal for someone. The first one only has Stanley and made in the U.S.A.. The second has that and Bailey and No.5, both measure 13 & 7/8" long. Two photos of each one. Thanks Steve

To me the second plane looks nicer. It looks to have the better handles, maybe rosewood. As for the price, I am not a pricing expert, and it has been several years since I bought my Baily planes. But if it's reasonable go for it!

Stevie,

The first plane is a Millers Falls No. 14 (stamped into the side next to the blade). To be certain, go to this site for dating the Type. The second one is a Stanley #5 jack plane and appears to be a Type 19 (1948-1961 vintage), but I cannot see the lateral adjuster to see if it has any Stanley stamped on it -- see the following site to determine its age. They both look like decent user planes. You might also want to check Patrick Leach's site.
