I've been in North Carolina a little over a year. I joined this forum at last year's picnic in hopes of winning the laser cut Millennium Falcon, which I did! I haven't even lurked until recently, but I've been working on some video for the organization, which brought me onto the forum. It's a great corner of the internet!
I've been a woodworker of modest skills off and on my whole life, thanks to my Uncle Jim, a Pinewood Derby car, and a chicken house. Also a shoutout to my dad, who was a master of duct tape, baling wire, and brute force. I spend my woodworking time on some combination of carving and amateur cabinetry and furniture, but I would like to learn a lot more.
I'm happy to be in a part of the country where groups like this exist.
