Being new to the Hegner owner's stable, I may be wrong, but that model is about 25 years old. Probably a good machine, but doesn't have the front tension top arm. That upgrade is about $180 + shipping. It does appear to have the Hegner Quick Realease top blade clamp, which is a plus. I bought a Hegner Mutimax 18 VS, which was used, and have thus far nearly doubled the $400 initial investment to repair/replace failing parts, and replace older parts with current upgrades that make the saw easier and faster to operate. After sitting for an extended period of time, the bearings can dry out, and the plastic connector arm can crack, especially if the unit is not oiled prior to even turning it on to see if it works. Happened to me, so just my 2ctsw. Also, it appears to be a single spped, not variable speed. The current comparable model is just under $800..:saw:
