Harvested a Box Elder

I harvested a box elder on my place last week. Pretty cool. It's about 12" in diameter.

I hadn't turned box elder before. I was shocked at how soft it is, considering it is a maple. It's 720 Janka hardness which puts it in the same range as eastern red cedar.

Yes, it's a LaserPecker 1. Someone said it's on sale for $280 on the LaserPecker site.

I use a Howard's UV sun block on my FBE, apply it about twice a year and it has worked well so far.
