Handyman block plane

Picked this up today at an estate sale because it felt good in my hand. No evidence that it had ever been sharpened.

After a bit of flattening, honing, and polishing, it will take a nice shaving in side grain hard maple. Still makes dust with end grain SYP. No adjuster, but it is easily set with a plane hammer. Added it to the fleet.

The Veritas apron plane is still my favourite.

Great find!
Back when Big Lots actually had buyouts I picked up a new Bluegrass block plane very similar in shape and size to that one. I think it was about 35 years ago I paid $5-10 for it, it's a keeper.
