I found this little 4” hand crank grinding wheel at an estate sale today. I don’t really need it, but I figured someone in the group might like it. The gears were dry as a bone so I took everything apart, cleaned it up and lubed everything. It worked OK before, but now it’s much smoother. I wire brushed everything, but did not paint it. I figured whoever wanted it could pick a color they liked. If you are interested, let me know, I don’t think it’s worth a whole bunch so just make me an offer.

They work very well. I had my Grandfathers I sold recently. You can put a good Norton wheel on them. The only problem is they by definition are one handed. I always thought about putting a treadle on it so I could control my work with two hands. Never burned a blade on it.

I have 3-4 of various sizes and types. They work great and require a young assistant for serious tasks.

Nothing but a bit of rope between the handle and a 1 x 3 on the floor will make a perfectly useable foot treadle.
I prefer an amber ale if drafted. :)
