The only thing I would not like about this beast methinks is the 'limited' 12" swing - rest look fantastic.

Oliver lathe with a 12" swing and 60" bed (roughly 36" between centers). Variable speed with a reeves drive. The belt for the reeves drive has been replaced with a new one. This is a very heavy industrial lathe, headstock alone is over 100 lbs. Single phase runs off of a standard 115 outlet.

Includes the following:
3 Tool rests: 12 inch, two 6 inch, half of 12 inch (still functional)
3 faceplates: 6 inch, two 3 inch
knockout bar
Teknatool chuck insert to adapt from Oliver's 1 1/8 x 8 tpi threads to fit standard lathe chucks with 1 x 8 tpi threads.

That model lathe was the inspiration for the Powermatic 3520. The guys at Powermatic hired Rude Osolnik to help design a lathe that would replace their model 90 and 45 and have the speed controlled by a VFD. Rude (pronounced Rudy) was a shop teacher for decades. His school had those Oliver lathes. He thought the design was simple and good, but it would be better with a moveable headstock and a bigger swing.
