I'll post this in Woodworking instead of Carving so as not to insult real carvers.:icon_thum

These are my first 2 made with the Carvewright/Compucarve.

This one is Red Oak with just a splash of Watco Dark Walnut Danish Oil, wiped off a couple of minutes after application.

This is a gift for a friend who operates a hunting/fishing store.
Same finish on Western Red Cedar.

I still have to apply some varnish.

SWEET! That is a neat tool indeed!

Can I borrow it? :rolf:

Sure Jeremy! Just bring your wood, words and a 12 pack of Sam Adams down.:)

Nice first effort Ken.

I know you didn't ask for it, but as an old time sign maker I have to make a few comments.

Not trying to be too critical, only want to help improve. Sorry if I sound harsh.

I wish I could have had one of those when I was in the business!!!

Mike, thanks for the suggestions. I always welcome constructive criticism.
What font do you recommend, Ariel?

How long did it take to 'carve' those?
Joe

Joe, around an hour each. Eventually I will be doing other work as it carves but now I'm addicted to watching it through the clear window, it's amazing to me.;-)

And you did all that with a pen knife???

Yep, but it's a smart penknife!
