Good article in this month's Woodsmith about foodsafe finishes. I learned from it! :wsmile:

They omitted shellac for heavens sake!
In case you're not aware of it, shellac is used to coat pills.

They also left out films that contain metallic driers.

Can you say OOPS! :eusa_doh: Shellac would be second on my list after mineral oil -- not sure how they overlooked it -- but then we are all only human.

In the text of the article Woodsmith points out that they were detailing finishes that contained food safe components. Shellac which is mixed with denatured alcohol is a poison until all the denatured alcohol has evaporated. I suspect that the reason that shellac did not get included.
