First project in a long time

Purple heart and soft maple. No finish yet. This is for my wife on her birthday. Someone was asking about hinges a while back. I made my own from hard maple.

I won a incra hinge jig at the picnic a few years back. It's a bit tedious but wood hinge look good and much cheaper than brass, especially lately.

Whatever I find on sale have you priced finish lately? Danish oil would be first choice but lacquer is quick and easy.

Well, we have a hardware store closing in franklinton. I found 1 quart of watco teak oil for under 10 bucks so teak oil is the finish.
