I make wooden flutes.I have been using wipe on poly...Is there any epoxy type that is easy to apply or some other type?I have seen in the past where some makers dipped theirs in poly ,varnish or whatever but I just see that as a nightmare almost ...maybe for runs etc. I make wooden flutes.I have been using wipe on poly...Is there any epoxy type that is easy to apply or some other type?I have seen in the past where some makers dipped theirs but I just see that as a night mare almost ...maybe for runs etc. . And I can't see having a large enough amount of poly poured into a tube or whatever to dip an item into. Am I missing something? I would love to dip a flute but I am not sure. I am just thinking for now. Any ideas or experiences appreciated!!

I dip into Danish oil. I dip, set it on an old cooling rack over a cookie sheet, let drip for a few minutes, and wipe. I then pour the leftovers into a glass canning jar, be sure the rim is clean, before putting the lid on. Works for me. Might work with wipe on poly.
