Fair price for walnut logs?

An arborist friend is taking down some walnut trees for a client who's willing to part with the logs (six or so of them, averaging 9' long, 20" diameter). I have no idea what a fair ballpark offer would be. I'd welcome any suggestions. Thanks!

I believe they would calculate to roughly 100BF each, but walnut sapwood can run deep and not desireable. I would guess the yield to be more like 60BF each (if that) so 360 BF. of green walnut. I doubt its worth much more than $500 for on the ground, green wood, still needs to be sawn and dried.

500.00 seems a little steep to me. I got 30 cents a board foot last time I sold a tree on the ground. That was before lumber went up so much, but it is coming down.
