Hello all, I am in the process of building a set of curved stairs. The curved rail must be custom built to fit the stairs. I have all the components to bend the rail (even the 22 C-clamps) except the most important-----urea formaldahyde glue----does anyone know where I can obtain a large amount (gal) of this substance.
thanks for any info you can share with me

You probably want to look for Unibond 800. Here is a source for it, around $30 a gallon
Vacuum Pressing Systems -- Veneer Glue
It's readily available at most woodworking supply stores like.

Jeff... that source you posted is kinda scary, I bet they have high nitrogen fertilizers too 8-O 8-O

Dave:)

First thing that came up in google - He said he wanted a "large amount".

Ahh Curve rails.... Are you using factory bending rail or actually making your own laminations. I am starting two curves this week, and plan on using PPR glue for the curved stringers and rail lamination. I got a big ol' tub from woodcraft. Have fun and take some pics, I'd love to see the beast (ALL curved stairs are beasts)
