First up is a Prairie Tool model 85 horizontal grinder. It looked like it had been sitting in a dirty barn for 50 years.

Next is a no-name green grinder that was mostly oily/dirty. A good cleaning and lube job and it was running nice.

I plan on putting the greenie on ebay and keeping the Prairie.

The second looks very much like the model I inherited from my great-gandfather. So far I don't have a stable surface thin enough to clamp it to.

I posted the green grinder on Lumberjocks and Craigslist and had offers from both in my email by early the next morning. I was a little surprised it sold so quickly. I have two more grinders coming, one is exactly like the green one but in better shape. The other is a Goodell Pratt and I believe it will be a very nice grinder.

Rixk, did you find those at flea markets? ebay? CL? or just poking around yard sales?

I bought them off ebay. I had intended to keep both but the green grinder wouldn't fit my workbench, not enough overhang. Two more are coming from ebay, both from the same seller so the money I save on shipping makes them fairly inexpensive. Since one of them is exactly like the green grinder and likely won't fit my bench either, I'll just clean it up and sell it.
