Guys,

I grew up in Western NC and now live in Northern VA (until I can move back to WNC :wsmile:). I need to stock up on a little lumber for a few projects. I'm visiting my parents soon in WNC and I'm curious to know if I'd be better off buying lumber down there. Up here, #1 Cherry and Walnut (including rough cut) goes for $3 - $4 a bf if bought from an individual (Craigs List) or a local saw mill. Usually, this wood is "air dried" and may or may not be ready. To me, this seems a bit high. I was expected about $2/bf. What prices are you seeing in NC?
