Cedar source needed

Any recommendations on a good source for cedar near the charlotte/rock hill area? Looking to start a pergola project.

You might try "The Woodworking Source" in Mooresville, NC. Speak with Rick DiNardo-he's great to work with.

They don't specifically offer ERC here, but they can probably get it for you. Cypress could be a good alternative wood for your pergola. It's pretty strong, a pleasure to work with, and is less prone to splitting than ERC.
