Best way to install window blind support

I "volunteered" to replace the blinds on 7 windows at our church. The windows at 79 inches wide - desire is to place a vertical board in the center to allow two smaller blinds (better light control, less weight to raise, less sag, etc.). The top of the window frame is wood - the bottom is some sort of stone (looks like slate but??)

Any recommendations on how to attach the board - another room was done this way appearing to have been done with some sort of adhesive.

I would install some pins (think metal dowels) in the sill. Drill end of vertical to accept pins, and pocket screw the top in place. For pins, and holes in end of vertical, make a template. You could glue wooden dowels into end of vertical, and drill holes in sill, as another method of assembly. Another option is to do spring loaded pins in bottom of vertical member
