Bandsaw gloat

After posting a pre gloat question here I can finally gloat. Here is the free bandsaw I was given by a friend. It doesn't compare to woodguy's 36" beast, but it will serve my purposes for a while.

It is a Rockwell/Delta Model 28-100. It looks to be in pretty good shape and as far as I know it only needs a blade.

No, but I'm sure I can make one for it. It's only a 10" so I won't be able to cut anything very thick. That's ok. It's more than I had before.

Hey,
Your bandsaw and my Jointer are peers.

I've come to the conclusion that a bandsaw is probably just as dangerous as a table saw. It may not reach out and bite you with a kick back, but it sure can have a lot of blade exposed that you could accidentally touch! Enjoy it and be safe

I've come to the conclusion that a bandsaw is probably just as dangerous as a table saw. It may not reach out and bite you with a kick back, but it sure can have a lot of blade exposed that you could accidentally touch! Enjoy it and be safe

Here If you are planning on building a fence, why not try this:
Auxiliary Band Saw Table - Articles at Woodcraft

In his book he also has a floor standing table that is larger but doesn't tilt. Both use the same fence I think and it looks nice. Easy to adjust for drift!

Buy some decent blades and build a febce and you're in business. Once you start using it you'll be hooked. Warning - WG disease can run rampant with bandsaws. How high are your ceilings? :lol: :lol:

Actually the ceiling in my garage is about 12'. A 36" Moak would fit nicely in there. :rolf:
