6" duel function ROS

I am thinking about one. Bosch looks good but it is pushing $300. Does anyone have any suggestions, likes or dislikes?

I paid about $240 for mine. It is a good sander. Try Klingspoor or International Tools.

CPO Bosch has it new for $240 - $25(off orders over $199 through 5/23) or reconditioned for $190. Mine is reconditioned and I couldn't be happier. If you can try these out I would. It's a handful on rotary mode and will pull you around. On RO mode it leaves a very nice surface.

aHa. I've got the Festool 150 and it's pricey. You're welcome to try it before you decide and maybe someone with the Bosch will make the same offer.

I bought a Metabo and it is great. BTW, the rigid 6" model (later models) were made by Metabo. Just another one for comparison.

I haven't used it, but it looks almost exactly like the Festool Rotex 150 when I looked at it at Klingspor down to the feel and weight. I have the rotex like Joe, and it is an impressive sander to say the least. I don't think I would have any regrets buying the Bosch either.

In a recent article in one of the wood working magazine the rigid sander scored just as high as the festool and bosch and the rigid cost $169 new. I have a 5" ros from rigid and it is one of my favorite sanders.

I picked up a refurb 5" ROS from CPO Bosch and have been very happy. I will probably buy refurb again when I need another sander.

I liked the Rigid too. The older ones were made in Switzerland by Metabo. The current Rigid is Chiwanese.

The Bosch 1250DVES is more powerful (6.5 vs 4 amps) and has a slightly smaller pattern (3/32 vs 1/8") on the finish mode than the Rigid. CPO Bosch at the time had a rebate and cheap shipping.

I picked up the Ridgid several months ago for $129 and really like the unit. The lifetime warranty pushed me over the edge.
