Hello, NC Woodworkers! First post here.
I routinely need to smoothe rounded over edges on very complex shapes cut out of 3/4" and 1.5" hardwood ply. I have been hand sanding using foam blocks but this has been extremely tedious and not that successful.
Then I tried hand sanding with a strip...
I have finally finished the rough out of the arched dining table frame.
LOML found a pic and I dropped it into Sketchup. Took me a while to find the thick walnut then took even longer to sort out curves, dimensions, radii, etc.
Joinery is M&T, except top rail table cross supports are cross...
I generally make mortises on the drill press and then square up the corners with a chisel. It seems easier to round off the tenons rather than chopping out the mortice. Is there any reason the prefer one method over the other?
