Mind if I run a scrolling banner for Tom?

Tom has asked for some help this weekend. Any objections to running a scrolling banner today and tomorrow till say noon? Jim

Scrolling Banner, Newerer, fasterer, samerer!!

Just a quick update for any who noticed some weirdness at the top of the site. We've replaced our old scrolling banner tool with a nifty newer one. While not overly exciting, it does two things (and more) better than the old one. First, its won't slow down your browser! The old one was...

New Member Chat temporary Scrolling Banner...

Got me YAI (Yet Another Idea).... On Thursdays during the 7:30 - 9pm flashchat for New Members, would anyone mind if we put up a scrolling banner? "Welcome New Members Chat is happening RIGHT NOW. Come join in!" I've had a number of folks say they forgot to jump on :-) Thoughts? Jim

Top scrolling banner

Can we dispense with the top scrolling banner? I know it is intended to catch everyone's attention but it is really distracting. I thought scrolling banners went out in the late 90's? Perhaps it could be made to blink instead--then I could at least turn it off in firefox. :)
