    Charlotte Woodworking Show—First Impressions

Well I went over to the show today, and now I'm broke! Actually I managed to walk away without spending too much money. I picked up a Snappy drill bit/countersink/driver kit, I've been wanting to buy it for the past 3 years, and they had a very convincing salesman this year ! They are...

    Do you use a Firestorm?

I have the old style 14.4v Firestorm that looks like the Dewalts (and was made somewhat like the Dewalts). I've had it maybe 4 years, and it served me well until the batteries died about a year ago. IMHO the new ones aren't worth what you have to pay for them, especially the ones with the...

    Happy Birthday Ryan

Thanks everyone! I have had a great birthday, I racked up some money that will be spent at HD or Lowes asap , and a nice john deere toolbox to go in my truck! But best of all, I spent almost all day in the shop making sawdust!

    Auxillary Table for Bandsaw

Hey you can copy whatever you like! It isn't everything I wanted it to be because I built it totally out of my head, but it has served its purpose well and I'm happy with it. I'll get those pics up asap!

    Auxillary Table for Bandsaw

I designed it, I had seen others in catalogs and on the internet, but the prices were more than I wanted to pay so I just made it myself! If you would like to see some more detailed pics I can get some and have them up later tonight.

    Shop fox 26in drum sander

Actually it has a smooth machined aluminum leading drum, then the second (last) drum is rubber coated. The sandpaper is wrapped around the drums, and it is secured at the starting end with tape, and a slide-on clip at the end you finish at. The problem is the tape sticks out into the "24 inch"...

    When to delete threads

Ok, I'm glad to see everyone agrees, the only threads that need closed are those which were time specific. I had just been thinking that there may be a space issue, or somthing of that nature that would call for dead threads to be closed or deleted.

    When to delete threads

In the description of a moderator it said somewhere that one of their jobs was to remove threads that had become dead. My question is, when would you consider it dead? A thread from 6 months ago that nobody has replied on in several months may still be helpful to someone looking for a certain...

    Milwaukee Nail Guns

Haha, actually that lathe is still sitting in the tool room at school, unplugged and collecting dust. I'm about to go crazy waiting for the thing to go to auction. Other than that things are going pretty well, I finished up Carpentry I at school, now this semester I'm in Masonry I, which should...

    Harbour Freight DT Jig

I'm the lazy one who has done nothing with his jig except mount it to a base! I have discovered that it makes a fine dust collector, just wipe it off every week or so and it collects more!
