Hinge Mortising Jig Panel

Hinge Mortising Jig Panel

If anyone can find a hidden knot under a hinge location, that would be me. I can rout a mortise better than I can chisel one with this jig. I modified my RotoZip as you can see. Anyone building this jig needs to know:
Joe,

Thanks for the email. We found out about the error shortly after publication. A late change in the drawing introduced the error and unfortunately, our proofing process missed it. The starting size of the panel should be 10-3/8" (an extra 1/8" to account for the saw kerf), not the 7-1/2" listed.

Fortunately, it's not a large piece, so the material waste is small. Not much comfort to those who tried building the jig and for that we apologize.

I do recommend that anyone building a project from any of our magazines call our customer service to find out about any errors or updates. It's not a guarantee that we know about all the errors that may exist, but at least you'll have the benefit of knowing the latest that we know.
