Hello folks, I'm looking for a gently used Benchtop Planer for my garage workshop. I'm monitoring craigslist. No facebook account so no access to marketplace. Thanks,
Charlessenf, this would be a great vintage project. I would prefer something ready to go. Appreciate ya,I have a small Craftsman Planer - no motor, but I do have a couple motors one might suit you. View attachment 231681

I'd drive any reasonable extra distance for that assurance from Mike Davis ('everything works as it should') when buying a tool like you are needing.I have a Delta that I will sell after I go through it to be sure everything works as it should. Will be replacing the worn out knives (already purchased). Probably asking $200 when ready to use.
Henry, I appreciate the statement of confidence. Goes a long way with me, thanks.I'd drive any reasonable extra distance for that assurance from Mike Davis ('everything works as it should') when buying a tool like you are needing.
Note - that is NOT to imply anything about any other offers made here or elsewhere. My statement is simply that Mike knows his stuff with regard to tuneups and so his offer to make sure it works is one you can be confident in.Henry, I appreciate the statement of confidence. Goes a long way with me, thanks.

I have a used Dewalt Planer with wings and stand that I’ll let go for $450.00. I upgraded and saved it for my sons. But they never picked it up. Sounds like you can use it. I live in Fayetteville.
No problem buddy. I just wanted to make an expensive machine available at a reasonable cost. And give you time to be able to pick it up. As opposed to what happened to you before. Best of luck, ArtArt, I would love to have the DeWalt. Considerable out of my current price range. I just do basic woodworking in my retirement, things like birdhouses, feeders, plant stands, and most of the wood I use while learning in the so called cedar pickets. Thanks,
I appreciate the heads up! I have to go lunchbox/benchtop because I have nore more room in the garage, Thanks Howie. Not a bench top, but a real 12* tool listed in Sanford FB marketplace.

Difficult from the picture to be able to tell how big it really is, it just looks big. I have a portable bench that I currently use for a small router table and that will also have to share the planer. I'm 69 years young. Bad back, spinal stenosis and disk issues, need knee replacement, currently hobbling around with a broken bone in the left foot. Poor vision, terrible hearing, according to my wife, always keep nitroglycerin in my right front pocket. But will always respond when you call out for Lucky! That's a newer model Parks and an excellent buy. The NEMA mag starter new will cost more than the asking price these days. As to footprint, it will be about the same as a benchtop planer but there's no way you can slide it on a shelf to get it out of the way. The DeWally 735 planer weighs 95 lbs so sliding that on a shelf isn't going to be easy, depending on your age. The 734 model weighs only 80 lbs.
