good ideaWith that setup you can add some brackets to either the table saw or router fence so you can use the table saw scale to adjust the router fence.
sounds about right. I'm sure the JessEm lift and Sawstop lift are nice too.I am looking for a lift as well.
If I did my math right, by the time you buy the Rockler lift, insert, and then the right size collar, you would be about up to the same price as Incra and JessEm lift and only about $70 from the Saw Stop one.
Either way, looks like I need to budget about $500. Is that correct?
Makes it a touch call. Did you look at those others. Just wondering why you landed on Rocklersounds about right. I'm sure the JessEm lift and Sawstop lift are nice too.
Fair question. I looked at Jessem and Incra but had different versions of Rockler router accessories in the past and was really happy with them so I was probably starting off a bit biased. In fact, the last router cabinet I had was a Rockler table, aluminum insert and fence and it was great. I was pretty sold on the Rockler PoMax fence ($229) mainly because it was just like my old fence, just with micro adjust which is nice. I like the Harvey fence but didn't want to drop $700+ with tax & shipping for a fence I use once or twice a year. The Saw stop is nice but four phenolic inserts are $99 bucks, that pushed them $200 bucks above the Rockler setup. I'm sure Incra would have been nice but they didn't have one in stock that fit my opening (Harvey RT800 is 11 3.4"x 9/14"). The Rockler checked all the boxes for me and ended up matching the fence. Inserts are aluminum and are held securely in place with a nice no tool quick change feature. It also accepts a larger diameter motor so I can continue to upgrade if my old porter cable gives up. As often as i use it, it will likely outlast me. Good luck, these manufactures make your decision tough which is a great problem to have. I used to make nice furniture by screwing my router to a piece of plywood and clamping a piece of hardwood to it as a fence. They spoil us today.Makes it a touch call. Did you look at those others.
