Someone to make this lamp

It looks like it wouldn't be that difficult to swap out the electrical parts with ones that work with the US grid. Someone would have to source those to make this anyway.

Think we have dissected the reason this question was posted - and OP has sound reasons (UK source does not ship to US).

Repeating the original poster question: .... Is someone willing to make this lamp? From my perspective it looks doable - though there are always details.

All you have to do is change the plug from UK to US. The bulb may work just fine if it is an led. If not just swap the bulb for a us bulb.

which works only if you can convince the retailer to sell/ship to the US....

I am going to build my version with some design changes. Cord will be hidden inside the curved arm. Weighted base. Lower price.

I'm sure it wasn't intended, but some of the responses seemed to imply that I should buy elsewhere (online/overseas) and not bother local craftspersons.
I like supporting local businesses, artisans, and craftspersons. If they can create the same or similar item why not use them?
I was going to ask about a queen bed too but now I'm not so sure. I didn't expect that I needed to justify my decision to support local businesses.

The thread did seem to get carried away. you will find someone to do this as well as your bed...

Agree the thread did get carried away - and I was a participant. Disclosing that you were looking to support a local person and that this was the type of design you were interested in might have been better received (NOT trying to shoot the messenger - you did not necessarily know).
Note that many times when a pic is shown to a woodworker with the question can you make this (copy this?) the intent of the asker is to get something made but with a lower cost. It is HARD to make a single piece and price it competitively with a volume producer.

So if I were writing this copy I'd say something like: "This picture is a design I like, but the maker is in the UK and does not ship to the US. I am looking for a local craftsperson to make something in this style - I like the light wood shown here. Anyone interested? Dimensions are shown in the picture - it is a table/desk lamp. I have potential follow-on work (bed) if this interaction works out well."

Again, it is not to be expected that all posters asking something here would understand all the nuances. Certainly, some here would write this differently than I might (ask a 100 woodworkers how to do something and you will get 110 different answers).

It looks like Mike Davis might be considering making his own version of this - I encourage you to inquire with him directly if you can.

Hope that helps

I have been thinking about something like this for years and haven’t had the time to work on it. I need to finish our front gates then this will be my next project.

I look forward to seeing your version.
I have often considered lamps to be fertile ground for WWing projects. I have made a few myself.
