Post moderated in census thread

I deleted Mike Davis' post and RandyJ's comment about how only low income households are counted in the census. PM sent.

I read that post and although it was a bit crass, I left it alone. It didn't target any particular group we try to protect or any topic that is forbidden.

I consider moderation extreme in this case.

I am in agreement with the moderation. It was wrong of Mike to post and Randy was out of line in my opinion. A real roller coaster of post were sure to follow. I don't see this as preemptive moderation. Quite the opposite, thoughtful moderation.

Good catch, Bas. I don't think the information or the collection is the problem... it's what some (those with a nefarious agenda) will do with the information. I can see Mike's thought taking this whole thread in a bad direction.

I realize I am being redundant here but just to coordinate the moderation with our site policy, both posts were negative comments about a government function ergo political in nature thus unacceptable according to written policy. :wsmile:

Although I feel they were made somewhat tongue in cheek, I'll have to agree with the decision & reason for deleting.
