1. The board unanimously reviewed and approved the old minutes.

2 & 3. Old Business. Department Reports/New Business:
a. 3.1: Joe stated that his laptop has crashed and he is sending it off to get it repaired. Our balance is right at $20,000. He has left our balance in paypal because we get more interest than BB&T. Rob made a motion to purchase a USB backup for the Treasurer's computer so that our records are backed up. The motion was seconded and unanimously approved. Doug has a few checks for Joe and will get them to him ASAP. The bill total is $953.54 for the lawyers. There was a credit card servicefrom Intuit that Steve Coles used to have and Joe tried to cancel it last month. He is going to have to write a cover letter stating that we discussed this and approved it and he will get it canceled. He also paid the balance for another of Steve's old NCWWer credit cards recently.

b. 3.5: Rob stated that one of the raffle prize winners didn't want his inlay dvds, so we have those to give away. Also, the winner of the Rikon bandsaw gave it back/donated it back to the site and we will use it for the next raffle. Doug suggested that we offer him the dvds if he wants them because it was such a great gesture on his part to donate the bandsaw. If we get any prizes again that relate to scheduling, we need to have more time before the event takes place. For the next raffle, we will have to extend that period of time to two weeks or later from the drawing date. Discussion insued and Rob will post a thread in the BOD forum for us to discuss this issue. The next raffle will start April 10'th. Rob also stated that he would like someone to help out with the upcoming raffle.

c. 3.3 & 3.4: Scott stated that he has been emailing back and forth with the Charlotte Woodworking Show and we will get two tables and 36 free passes for the event. We have to have the booth manned during the entire show and we will plan on doing a scroll saw and turning demo. The only expenditures he can think of are for the board members staying overnight in Charlotte. There needs to be one board member there per day. Rob and Tracy have already volunteered and we will work out the lodging. The dates for the show are March 25-27. We are going to start publicizing it heavily on the site so that the rest of the membership will have time to plan on being there. Also, we hope that someone will line up a lunch bunch, etc for that show. Scott is planning on going with Danny's BBQ for the picnic. They have a great selection and he is looking to only cater the meat and the members can bring the sides. Also, we will buy the drinks. The pavilion at Ritter Park will seat 250 people and has electricity. Scott will have the prices worked out soon.

d. Tracy said that until we reach non-profit status, it is a moot point to pursue a credit card processing program. The site redesign is temporarily on hold.

e. Trent stated that he got the NCWWer fliers to Klingspor and Woodcraft in Raleigh.

f. Andrew stated that the upcoming donation drive will start in early March and will run for 45 days. These donations are very important for achieving our non-profit status.

g. 3.2: Doug stated that the IRS denied our initial request for tax exempt status and he is working with the lawyers to inform them more on all of the educational aspects of our community. We are optimistic to hear their response. Doug stated that he is going to get started on the indemnification insurance and report back on that soon. Doug has been talking with the Lie Neilson people and invited them to take part in the Spring Picnic. He is waiting to hear back from them. They have contributed to our prizes ever year.

3. New Business:

a. Doug suggested that we add a memorial section on the site for our deceased members. We could possibly add it under the community tab.

b. Doug also suggested that it may be a good idea to post a sticky that people selling tools in the classified section may not be able to produce a receipt for the sale.

c. Scott said that the Hickory Klingspor Show didn't have the best turn out. Andy and Tracy did great work on their demos and Greg Paoloni did a wonderful job as well. There could have been more projects to show though. Doug suggested that we encourage people in posts during the year to bring their projects to the Klingspor Shows.

d. 3.6: Scott stated that he would like to see more people doing what Mike Davis has been doing by offering classes, etc. This would further our educational mission. We will not financially back it, but will be happy to help facilitate it.

At 9:02pm, Doug made a motion to adjourn the meeting. The motion was seconded and unanimously approved.

I may be a few minutes late for the call. This is only a slight chance. My Piano instructor changed my lesson date to Monday from the usual Tuesday. Probably will be on time but just wanted to cover all bases.
