New Wixey Planer Digital Readout

Does anyone have any experience with the "new and improved" Wixey digital readout for lunchbox planers (WR510)? :help: I see that they are offering an upgrade for the older WR 500 model for $20. I would appreciate any info on either the old or new model. Is it useful? :icon_chee Or a frill?:icon_scra

I have the new model and it works pretty good. its not pefect but it gets you really close

You can read on the Wixey website what the differences are, but the big improvement is the readout now angles upward instead of being vertical, which makes it much easier to read. The new readout can be retrofit on the old unit. Both work on the same principal. Despite some vendors selling the older unit at discount prices, for the difference I recommend the new WR510 style unit
