In the Corporate world as well as other sectors there is a process/concept called separation of duties or SOD. Sometimes they are in place to ensure that no one person or group has too much power. Other times to make sure one person or group does not have too much work. And finally they are in place to create a structure to handle escalations and reviews. We want to talk about the latter.
For the purpose of site moderation, no members of the BoD will continue to serve as moderates with the exception of McRabbet, TracyP and ScottM. This way the remaining four BoD members can remain fair and impartial. Yes they will still have the ability to view all post but will not take an active role in moderation. To assist us in creating this structure we are asking the Staff and Moderators to funnel their concerns and escalations to TracyP and ScottM. TracyP and ScottM as senior moderators will serve as the first level for escalations and working with the Staff and Moderators will try to resolve all issues prior to engaging the BoD.
The Staff, Moderators and every site user has the right to raise up issues, questions, ideas directly to the BoD. That is not changing. We are just trying to create an impartial review structure to deal with serious and sensitive site issues.
