Intarsia 101

Here is the picture of the 1953 Ford F100 Pick-Up that will be used for this project.
This pic shows that I have traced the outline of the truck using carbon paper onto copy paper.

Here is the traced outline of the truck. Not all details have been put in at this point.

In this picture I have cut out the traced truck outline and glued it to new pattern sheet. I also have added my perimeter frame lines.

This is the completed pattern. All details are complete, all carving lines are complete and the wood chart has been added.

These are the woods that will be used for this project.
All have been planed to the proper thickness and have been chosen for correct color and grain.

Next pics will focus on tracing, cutting and shaping pieces.

Oh man I am stoked about this. You really have a lot of detail in there. Intarsia is something that I have always aspired to do. I hope to learn a lot from you, thanks for taking the time to share.
