I've got one similar to what Phillip linked to. I have moved just about everything I have, several times with it. I've got a very petite wife:BangHead:
It doesn't have the "stair climbers" but it goes up stairs pretty easy with a little muscle.
You are more than welcome to borrow it.
Another thought would be to rent a appliance dolly from U-haul. They are very cheap, and very ideal for what you need to do.

The style that's in the Lowes link is available from Northern Tool for $19.95. You may want to get one of them for yourself. I have one of these and use it for almost everything. When I want to move something "really heavy" I also have a magnesium refrigerator hauler type hand truck and you could borrow either one or both of them, but I'm so far away (Kannapolis) that it likely wouldn't be worth the trip.

I have this one:

The ability to convert it to a cart is really nice, because you can put a large box (say a 14" band saw) on it and push it around with ease. 800lb is probably overkill for me, but I figured I might want to buy a 600lb tool one of these days, and I like having a little extra capacity.

Having a few ratcheting straps helps. I moved a large 36" TV (tube) with it, no sweat.

You're more than welcome to borrow it.

an appliance truck is what you need for the purposes you have described here. When properly strapped tight, I regularly move refrigerators weighing about 3-4 times what I do. You really want the control available to you when the load is securely strapped to the truck. I keep trying to teach my guys that... but they are clearly smarter than I am, though I have been doing this line of work for almost 8 years now

we bought one from Lowe's rated at 900 pounds about 8 years ago for under $100. It has moved my gun safe >900 lbs empty ( several times - I PRAY for the last time) with no problem. I've moved numerous appliances with it and never a problem. It has the stair climbers (invaluable imo for up and down steps). I have moved everything in the shop including the lathe on in by myself with not so much as an ouch~
I only wish I'd bought it years earlier. I severely underestimated the amount of use the thing has gotten. I'd recommend one to anyone who thinks they might use it. :thumbs_up

I would check HF or Northern Tool (as others have recommened) before buying the one from Lowe's (the same hand truck you link to from Lowe's is about $20 cheaper at HF). I think you could find it cheaper at either place. They always seem to be on sale at HF and I think there is a HF 20% off coupon floating around somewhere. I picked up a 600# capacity one from HF for about $25 (if I remember correctly) and it has moved everything I've had to move so far. Nice to have when you need it but kind of a pain to have to store when you don't.
