Occasional woodworker here in NW Greensboro: I have some spalted/ambrosia (soft?) maple that I'd like cut into 10/4 slabs, and my 18-inch bar just isn't up to the task. I purchased a nice chainsaw mill (at full price last Fall, alas:
I've realized I'm unlikely to use this mill again (used for ONE cut so far…), so it's "FREE" to anyone with a giant chainsaw and ripping chain that's willing to use it to cut up my front-yard maple (no metal concerns - original homeowner 1978-2000 reports only two backyard trees with any nails/screws, and I've added none 2000-2024)
Trunk measures ~12-15" diameter, 22 feet total in 4 sections
