I have not posted a response, but I have thoughts. The main thing I am thinking is that Dragon's statement "When I signed up here almost two years ago, it looked like a really friendly place to discuss woodworking among other things. I met a lot of really great people and made some new friends and I'm very thankful for that. I have noticed recently however that those same folks very seldom post here anymore. We still remain good friends and we do keep in touch just not via this medium. That makes me sad."

It was and is a friendly place. The people that do not post here have made their choices for whatever reason.

"The point I'm trying to make is that North Carolina Woodworker feels different to me now than it did when I first signed up. It don't feel "familial" like it used to. I've even been told by those who shall remain nameless that, "You need to be careful because you're being watched everytime you sign on; you make certain individuals nervous." Well, I don't mean to make any of you nervous, I don't bite. Like many others, I'm old, less tolerant of petty crap, and I've been through enough stuff over the years that should have killed me and I survived it, that I really don't need or want any more conflict. "

Dragon KNOWS why he is watched. He repreatedly flouts the policies and HE may be a reason (if there is one) that we are not as friendly any more. His offensive posts may have driven off others that were interested in discussing other than jobs going to China, hm...say woodworking?

"I don't even post here much anymore because I don't feel confortable here anymore." Probably because we are not letting him get away with the offensive posts.

That is my 2 cents worth.

I intend to PM a few of the posters after my 24 hours cooling of period. But I closed the thread and in the closing post, I brought up a bit of interesting timing on Dragon's part.
