:D Another odd job for the mill. This method of sawing is great for coffee tables, but it is rather hard on the clutch sawing diagonal to the grain of the log. 8)

Hey ptt49er So far that is the finished product.:gar-La; They are 24"W X 8/4 T X 4'L I don't think it's gonna pan out to sporty though. The slab I was after is already cracking from the center out. Very small cracks, but there still fresh off the log. Any ways, sometimes,... the right crack makes the table.:eusa_danc

Definitely some unique slicing but as you confirmed cracking from the pith is inevitable although the "rustic " look is prized by some. :wsmile:

It's probably nothing a couple butterflies wouldn't fix... or 50-gallons of Epoxy.

Bury it in sawdust/shavings and let 'er dry for about 6 to 8 months. See whatcha got. Sometimes good, sometimes firewood.
