I have realligned my trunnion several times, once after each move. I have the blade parallel to the miter track within .001" but unfortionately truning the blade up to 45 degree tile takes A LOT of muscle. The manual says to avoid adjusting the front of the trunnion, but I read that after the last adjustment and the stiff 45 degree tilt. Does anyone have a suggestion how I can realign the trunnion to get 45 degree cuts without a muscle man cranking on the tilt wheel?

After my Delta sat in the barn for a year the trunnion adjustment shafts were rusted tight.
I had to completely disassemble, clean, derust, grease, reassemble, and adjust. I learned a lot and it was a day well spent. That was about 18 years ago and one move to my present home/shop. It still works smoothly and accurately.

Since you have adjusted your saw before and seem competent to fully disassemble then I would recommend that you go through it completely and while in there check the bearings as well.

Thank you Mike for the advice. After disassembling the trunnion to it's individual parts, cleaning, lubricating, reassembling and alligning with two sets of PALS to get the front and back of the trunion midpoint between the .041” of adjustment it had side to side got it's working Much better. Thanks again.
