:dontknow: Due to recent events here and today's post by Steve, http://www.ncwoodworker.net/forums/f22/stop-20748/ I am confused as to what, where, and when I am allowed to post a response, submit a new thread, etc.:BangHead: So, in fairness to myself, and at the risk of being sent to :kamahlitu
anyone wishing to converse with me has my permission to email me at Dragon5608@gmail.com, :XXcomputeor simply pic up the phone and call me. I will refrain from any further postings until this confusion is cleared up to everyone's mutual understanding.

Steve, sorry if I took liberties in speaking what was on my mind or in contributing to whatever it is/was/has ruffled your sensitivities.

This is simply the result of cutting to many turning blanks. Stop cutting turning blanks and within a few days you'll start thinking clearer again. Don't under estimate the powers of the darkside my friend.

BTW since you posted your email address in a publicly accessible internet forum you can expect a lot of spam - I hope qmail.com has some good filters.

David, I can appreciate your confusion on this. There was a post to the Member Announcement forum earlier today that, well, wasn't an announcement. It was 100% Off Topic. It was funny, it was in good taste, and loosely related to woodworking, but it wasn't an announcement. That's why Steve asked people to not use the Member Announcement forum (or any other forum) for Off Topic stuff. The Off Topic forum will be reopened, so please, save all that good stuff. :icon_thum

Most of the forums have a pretty good description as to their purpose (e.g. Wood, Workshops, Hot Deals). Note that using the right forum helps people cope with post overload as well. It's hard to keep up these days! Which is actually a pretty good thing

Please don't feel like you have to walk on eggshells. If you want to talk about something that's woodworking related (and the category is pretty broad - wood, power tools, sharpening, workshop layout, how non-woodworkers don't appreciate grain matching and dovetails, harbor freight coupons, why it's a bad idea to catch a chisel as it falls off the bench, the ideal mix of oil and varnish, the optimum amount of clamping pressure, wondering why people worry so much about the optimum amount of clamping pressure etc. etc. etc. Oh yeah, speculation on the weather at this year's picnic is also good), then please, post away. :XXcompute Dont' worry about our sensitivities, ruffled or otherwise. :rolf:
