Awesome - I must admit I'm a little jealous. I never ventured into a swamp to fell any trees - You Lucky Dog and you dad has a typical logger attitude.

The closest I've got to swamp loggin was winching sinkers and deadheads out of the tar river. I now know why we are called "Tar Heals" takes atleast 6 showers and a whole lot of scrubbing to get Tar River off the bottom of your feet. :gar-La;

A few months ago there was a series titled "Swamp Loggers" in Eastern NC. It featured Bobby Goodson Logging in Jacksonville. It was fascinating, but dangerous, dirty, and hard work. Getting the multi-ton equipment in and out without sinking to the gunwhales and beyond was a real feat.
