Just north of Raleigh. Anyhow, I have some projects in the works that I haven't had time to work on. A closet organizer for my wife (birch plywood), a grandfather clock (Purpleheart), an acoustic guitar that has me scratching my head (mahogany sides and back), two chess boards (tiger maple and black walnut), a complete set of chess pieces (Cocobolo and pink ivory), and a Stickley magazine rack (the last of my cherry stock - essentiall a small book shelf).

I'm going to need help on that guitar - I started it when I was living in VA and taking a class at a Woodcraft shop in Roanoke, but moving to NC put the brakes on that. Right now, my garage is too full of stuff to be able to even set up shop on any of the larger projects.

One chess board (14") is going to be a Christmas giveaway, the other (16") is going to be raffled off to raise money for our church building fund.

I've done numerous small projects and a small number of rather larger projects. By no means am I an expert at any of them, maybe just okay at following directions.

Hi Gregory,
Welcome to the best WWing site on the whole WWW! Great folks always willing to help even a dummy newbie like me!
Don't hesitate to jump in with questions or advice. Most important, we like pictures so our favorite saying is "no pics, didn't happen".
Take care and enjoy the site,

I do have some pictures up on Myspace - I think there's a headboard, a toy car, my daughter's bed and maybe a chessboard. Should be able to find me under the same screen name. I'll have to see what I can do about getting some pic's up here.

Welcome to the site, Gregory. We are happy you found us and hope you'll consider adding your pictures to the site Photo Gallery so others here can see them, too. It also makes it lots easier for you to add pictures to your posts in a thread.

Welcome to the county Greg. If you get up to Oxford any, give me a shout and drop by. Between working two days a week, chauffering the M-I-L, babysitting my granddaughter, golf(actually I flog -golf spelled backwards but describes my game), and working with Leadership Granville, the Masons, and the church, I get a little bit of WWing done ocassionally.

Since VA is not ****Yankee territory:lol::lol:, where did you originally hail from?

Welcome Greg. I lived in Pennfield a LONG time ago. Where in N.Va. are you from? We relocated from Fairfax a little over a year ago. I live in North Raleigh as well.

Small world -- I was born and raised in the Rochester area -- lived in E. Rochester, Fairport, Cananadaigua and then moved to Brighton when I was ten. After graduat ing from Brighton HS, went to the Uinversity of Rochester -- got married and moved to SC for my graduate studies -- Have never missed the snow, but I still have property on the west side of Canandaigua Lake. Just curious -- what's the small town you're from?

started grade school in Fairport, but for all intents and purposes, grew up in Honeoye Falls. After adulthood, moved around a bit between Lima, Bloomfield , Houston TX, & Newark NY before uprooting to Reston, where I decided I couldn't afford to buy a house, so off to Front Royal I went to invest in my own piece of the American Dream. Sold my home last spring, made a hefty profit and reinvested the $$ in a home in NC.

welcome Greg. Years ago my brother moved downstate to Rochester to attend U of R, he and his family now live in Fairport, across the street from the canal. Welcome south. You may find that we tend to shut down when it starts to look like snow might hit, which I find rather comical having grown up with what seemed like four inches of fresh snow everyday north of the Adirondacks.

like Scott, I am interested in your Biodiesel experience.
