SPF Shrinkage Rates
A question about radial vs. tangential shrinkage rates. Saturday I saw an SPF table that has been in the owners home for about 2 months. The table top is 42" wide with breadboard ends, each having 5 tenons 2 1/4" wide and mortises 3" wide. Only the center tenon is glued, but all 5 are pinned... -

Hey guys, Got a strange question... Hoping for some identification help. I found a scrapped piece of an SPF 2x4 that I was going to use for a project... Looked a whole lot like Spruce or Fir -- Med rays not particularly prominent, even on split out stock.... Wood color.. Looks like light... -
