I was playing with some cypress and my current deck box was not holding up well. I decided that cypress was probably the best wood for an outdoor project. So my smoking chips are now housed in this cypress deck box. I originally put hinges on it but did not have three hinges alike, so I built...
I have a 42" flat Screen, which I would like to picture frame in.
Has anyone tackled this or have any experience with this project.
There are several questions that come to mind.
Like how to fasten it to the TV or wall, cooling of the TV.
Do you build a frame and then add trim around it/build...
Maybe you guys could help me get a clue. I see wide slabs like this one on some of the premium lumber yards
My question is how in the world do the manage to get a big honking slab like that so smooth?
I had my eye on a 52" planer for quite some time it's powered by a Cat diesel - the...
I am looking for a low cost (CHEAP), but not C%^P, flat topped 10" GP saw blade for the times I need to make a kerf cut, dado, etc. The majority of blades seem to be ATB. It won't be on the saw that often.
Please see the pictures below. I milled these panels (9 1/4" x 33") and had them flat and neatly stacked on my tablesaw. Went out of town for a week and came back to find them warped. :BangHead: Is this amount of cup/twist OK? Should I cut them down the middle, glue clamp and mill again? Does...
I sanded my benchtop. 80 grit followed by 120. I used a flat reference then marked the high areas and worked to blend them in. I also cleaned up the center glue line/offset.
The bench is roughly 21.75W x 2.75thk x 84L. I got a few sticks of extruded aluminum 60mm square tubing (85 inches...
Thinking about making up some flooring for my own personal use. It'll be RO, I have enough to do what I want in either Flat or QS. Is there any difference in installation technique or is it mainly appearance preference. I'm thinking it's appearance, but thought I would check with the experts...
Doesn't sound much like a power tool does it? Well you can put about ten, I said TEN of your 10" saw blades in one when mailing out for sharpening. This dramatically lowers the price for each. By bundling an order with a friend you really save. Check out the prices at Dynamic Saw vs what you are...
My first try at making a router sled to flatten the slab. It worked better than expected. I used a 1 1/2" bottom cleaning bit from MCLS (or MLCS, MSCL, whatever) and it did a great job. Very smooth cut with no tearout.
I love that claro - think I'll have to make a trip to Kyle's to get a few...
Still bumping along on the closet project for the wife. I have all of the chest of drawers construction complete except for the drawer fronts. There are 16 of these puppies and they range in size from 10"x27" to 8"x18". (See Pic below for scale.) So after gluing up the soft maple fronts I...
I have always cut crown molding the normal way on a miter saw. i would like to try and do it flat because the size does not fit the saw.I looked on the net for the compound angle charts but was wondering if anyone has had experience using these
Since I'm new at this, I thought I'd ask the braintrust for suggestions. LOML recently purchased a patio table that has what appears to be, a cedar or cypress top. I like the look of the wood but realize we need to protect it from water rings left by drinks:drunken_s . It is on a...
My wife wanted me to post a few pics of the pantry I made her this spring. It's 100% 3/4 southern yellow pine measures 7'4" tall by 6'6" wide and 16" deep. I edge glued panel after panel after panel to get enough to make this. My wife drew up a sketch of the front face measurements and explained...
I am looking for advice on storing sheet goods. I would rather store on edge for space savings and ease of access but it seems to warp over time. I noticed that it is shipped and stored at the lumber yard flat. Thanks.
